Our AM kindergarten students in room 5 and first grade students from room 31 have been book buddies this school year. To celebrate Read Across America week, they decided to get together and share books on dress like your favorite book character day. Our students enjoyed reading with each other and looked great in their costumes. What a great way to celebrate reading! Our 2nd-5th grade students at the primary and intermediate buildings enjoyed dressing like a book character as well. The teachers and staff even got in on the fun! What a fun way to celebrate learning!

Our first grade students in room 31 wanted to dress fancy and look like their teachers or principals for our Read Across America theme day. So, that’s what they did on February 26th. The children came to school in their best attire. They put on their fancy dresses, makeup, high heels, dress pants, dress shoes and ties and came to school looking their best!!! They put on their smiles and got their picture taken with Mr. Kramer, Mrs. Castleman, Mrs. Funck and Mrs. Gawel. The students also wanted their teachers to look like students. Mrs. Stull and Mrs. Brandt had a FUN time dressing down in our comfy clothing! Mrs. Castleman, Mr. Kramer, Mrs. Funck and Mrs. Gawel dressed as the characters from the Dr. Seuss classic One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
Students in third grade celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.'s life. Everyone learned a kid-friendly poem highlighting what Dr. King believed and then shared their own dreams. Students were eager learners and knowing the poem helped them better understand Dr. King's words. We've shared their dreams by hanging them in our third grade hall.
