The COCOA Council have been sharing out a message with their K-3 elementary peers of "Be KIND." This student-led group of 5th graders with awesome leadership qualities meet bi-weekly and discuss ways to build a strong school community and support our COCOA Principles. So far the outreach has been mainly in the 4th and 5th grades, with topics of bullying awareness and red ribbon. Our building themes for November and December are “Pay-it Forward” and “Inclusion.” They wanted to bring these themes to kindergarten-3rd grade classrooms by reading a book on kindness and sharing their insight with them. They also used a short slide show that they created. These themes connect into the shirts that they have seen staff wearing “be kind” and World Kindness Day on November 13th.
